This Weekend "A Winter Tale" opens at Rainbow Cinema Woodbine & Ottawa Screening

As Black History Month winds down, the Canadian release of A Winter Tale has received an overwhelmingly positive response from cinema goers. Peter Williams (Gene), Michael Miller (Dx), Ryan Glasgow (Lloyd), Ryan Ishmael (Sibeka), Finlandia Casellas (Rain), Valerie Buhagiar (Elaine), Bobby Del Rio (Guy), and Nicole Stamp (Julie) reunited for the celebrated launch to meet and greet all those that attended throughout the month. The many youth groups that saw the film resulted in teens sharing stories of their own reality during the Q&A sessions.

The buzz for A Winter Tale stirred the GTA as the media’s interest was piqued. Local newspapers and online sites caught the fever and the reviews have been outstanding. While the GTA enjoyed the theatrical release, Frances-Anne Solomon headed to Edmonton, Los Angeles and New York for special screenings.

Friday February 29th, A Winter Tale will open at Rainbow Cinema Woodbine (500 Rexdale blvd, Etobicoke) for 1 week only! Showtimes are 1pm, 4pm, 6:50pm and 9:30pm.

This Saturday, Peter Williams and Frances-Anne Solomon will be in Ottawa where A Winter Tale will be screened at the Routes to Freedom Conference at the University of Ottawa (showtime 2pm).

Thank you for a successful launch!

We'd like to thank everyone for coming out last Thursday for the launch of A Winter Tale!

We had a great time and a terrific turn out. The red carpet was rolled out for the cast and crew; the marquee lit up the night as excited cinema goers patiently lined up for the release of A Winter Tale. Happy to see a full house, Frances-Anne et al welcomed the crowd and engaged the audience on the timely issues raised within the film. Staring at a diverse group, the cast fielded questions from youth who raised some very interesting points.

The evening turned festive with live music at Hugh's Room, with the singing talents of Tanya Mullings and The Sattalites!

Missed the launch? Not to worry A Winter Tale will be in theatres from February 13.

Ryan Ishmael (Sibeka) on hand for the big night!

Nicole Stamp (Julie) having a good time...
